Starting first thing July 6th, there are almost no fires allowed in Garfield County.
The Garfield County Fire District made the announcement saying it’s to protect “public safety, private property, and wildlife habitat.”
The only kinds of fires that are allowed are: outdoor stoves, BBQs, smokers, natural gas, propane, pellets, and briquettes.
You can not burn recreational fires, agricultural burns (even with Department of Ecology permits), yard waste fires, and any incendiary devices like fireworks, exploding targets, sky lanterns, and tracer ammunition.
The ban runs through the end of September.
