Law enforcement officers are hoping you can help out. Yesterday public works crews in Asotin County and Lewiston had to work on an oily substance that left a trail several miles long. It started in Asotin County at the roundabout under the Southway Bridge, and continued across the bridge and up Bryden Canyon Road. Crews had to close off the 8th Street Exit uphill to be able to clean the mess. They first covered it with sand by hand, then had to go back and recover the contaminated sand. Crews weren’t completely sure if it was motor oil, hydraulic oil, or some other substance.
