The yard waste burning period is now closed in Asotin County. While campfires and backyard recreational fires are currently still legal, a county-wide burn ban could come very soon.
A release from the Asotin County Fire District says conditions are starting to become dangerous. They also want to remind you that burn barrels are illegal in Washington at all times, even during open burning season, and is punishable with a hefty fine.
The annual burning period re-opens October 15th.
