Scam Alert: The Grangeville Police Department has been made aware of scammers contacting local residents claiming to be from the Police Department. Scammers are able to make it look like they’re calling from a GPD phone number to appear to be legitimate.
GPD officers remind you that law enforcement will not contact you by phone demanding payment for outstanding debt or threaten arrest you to obtain money.
If you’re contacted, they recommend you do not provide any personal information to the caller. You can always contact your local authorities to verify the callers’ credentials.
