Voters turned down the $25 million bond to fund upgrades to the city’s water upgrades in yesterday’s election. Mayor Dan Johnson thanked the voters and responded in a press release. He says “While the bond measure did not pass, the need to address our aging underground infrastructure remains.”
The release says some of the pipes are more than 100 years old and now the city must evaluate alternative approaches to replacing the infrastructure.
Public Works Director Dustin Johnson said “The city has goined a better perspective as to the community’s concerns and is committed to finding solutions that benefit all of our residents.”
