
Several local high school baseball and softball teams begin Idaho State Tournaments today (Thur).
For the first time since 2008 the Lewiston High girls will meet Middleton this afternoon at 2 p.m. Pacific Time in the state 5-A tournament at Skyview High School in Nampa.
The Orofino High girls are competing in the Idaho State 3-A tournament in Caldwell. The Maniacs will open tournament play against North Fremont today at 4:15 p.m. Pacific Time with live radio coverage in the upper Clearwater Valley on FM 103.3.
Three softball teams are playing in the Idaho State 2-A tournament also in Caldwell. Clearwater Valley opens up at 9 a.m. Pacific Time against Garden Valley. Potlatch is the top seed and will face the winner of the Clearwater Valley game at 11:15 a.m., while Genesee is the #2 seed and will play the winner of the Glenns Ferry/Notus game also at 11:15 a.m. Pacific Time
Meanwhile, the Idaho State 3-A baseball tournament begins today at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa where the Orofino boys are the top seed and will face Malad tonight at 6 p.m. with live radio coverage in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.
The Idaho State 2-A tournament is being held at Lewiston’s Church Field and features an all north central Idaho field. The tournament begins at 4 p.m. today when #2 seed Kendrick squares-off against #3 seed Clearwater Valley and top-seed Potlatch will face #4 seed Troy tonight at 7 p.m.
