Montana came in as the second highest in the nation in a new study showing the hires rate for February. That’s the number of people hired during the month as a percent of employment.

The national average is 3.4%.  Montana was 4.9%, second only to Florida at 5.1%.  Idaho came in at 4.2%, Oregon came in just above-average at 3.5%, but Washington was below at an even 3%. California was near the bottom of the list at 2.9%, but Washington D.C. was the lowest at 2.2%.
