The Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation is excited to announce the opening of its large Impact Grant Season on May 1st, 2025 to promote the health, wellness or disease prevention of organizations within the Foundation’s Service Area.

The Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation’s large Impact Grant Program funds one-year requests to support projects and initiatives that promote the health, wellness, and disease prevention of persons within the Foundation Service Area in a manner that respects the religious, ethical, and moral principles of the Roman Catholic Church and adheres to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. The Foundation Service Area includes nine counties: Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce in Idaho; Asotin, Garfield and Whitman in Washington; and Wallowa in Oregon.

The large Impact Grant is intended for requests ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. Priority for these grants are given to applicants that demonstrate a commitment to long-term vision and projects that address the root causes that affect health, improve wellness, and help prevent disease. The large Impact Grant application will be available on the Foundation’s website at lewisclarkhealth.org beginning May 1st, 2025. Impact Grant applications are due by June 30, 2025.

“In 2024, the Foundation awarded 14 Large Impact Grants totaling nearly $700,000 to fund a fantastic group of nonprofit agencies in the area, and we look forward to continuing to fund projects and initiatives that meet the Foundation charitable purpose,” said Jen Magers.

The Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation was established in 2017 by Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden as part of the sale of St. Joseph Regional Medical Center by Ascension Health to RCCH Healthcare Partners. Those eligible to apply for grants are nonprofit tax-exempt organizations with 501(c)(3) classification from the IRS, and governmental entities or government or public organizations described in I.R.C. § 170(c)(1) (political subdivisions of a state or federal government) or I.R.C. § 511(a)(2)(B) (state colleges and universities), even if it is not described in I.R.C. § 501(c)(3), provided that any grant to such governmental or public organization must be made exclusively for charitable purposes as described in I.R.C. § 170(c)(2)(B), subject to any additional limitations under 26 C.F.R. § 53.4945-5(a)(4), or corresponding provisions of any subsequent Federal tax laws.
