The city of Pullman has promoted interim police chief Aaron Breshears to the full-time position.
Breshears had been serving as acting chief since former Chief Jake Opgenorth was placed on leave in December while an investigation into him was being conducted by the Washington State Patrol.
Breshears, who has been with the department since 1999, was the Pullman Police Department commander before being named acting chief.
