
The Idaho State Police has released the 2024 Idaho Missing Persons Clearinghouse Annual Report. The report offers a comprehensive overview of the individuals reported missing in Idaho and entered into the National Crime Information Center from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024.
The report aims to identify general characteristics and trends related to missing persons in Idaho. While it doesn’t include case-specific investigative details or techniques, it provides a valuable, data-driven snapshot to help the public and law enforcement better understand the scope and scale of this critical issue.
According to the report, in 2024 there were 2,002 entries into the National Crime Information Center Records, while 2,030 records were purged. There were 2,714 modified or supplemental entries and there were a total of 6,951 transactions – including 185 active missing person records. All missing persons investigations are handled by the local police or sheriff’s office in the jurisdiction where the person was reported missing.
