The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will conduct a public meeting tonight (Wed) in Lewiston to discuss the 2025 Strategic Plan Update.

According to a news release, the strategic plan is the road map the department uses to ensure the agency achieves it’s mission. It charts the broad strategies and tactics the department will employ in the coming years to sustain Idaho’s wildlife and meet the demand for hunting, fishing and trapping. The plan was last updated in 2015, and Director Jim Frederick’s decided the plan was due for an update to ensure the strategies used will allow the department to achieve goals now and in the coming years.

While the plan provides the overall approach the agency will take in the future, it does not dictate the specific seasonal rules and regulations or species management plans that fish and game updates on a regular basis.

Tonight’s public meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Clearwater Regional Office, located at 3316 16th Street in Lewiston.
