Idaho filers can track refunds online at tax.idaho.gov/refund for the most up-to-date information. Filers need to provide their Social Security number or Taxpayer Identity number, and the refund amount expected.

To learn more about the service, watch the “Where’s my refund?“ video on the Tax Commission’s webpage, tax.idaho.gov/refundinfo.

If you e-filed, you can start tracking your refund about four business days after getting word from your e-file provider that the Tax Commission received your return.

If you filed a paper return, plan to wait three weeks to start tracking refunds. That gives the Tax Commission time to manually enter the information into its database.

Those without internet access, can find out their refund status by calling the Tax Commission toll free at 1 (800) 972-7660.

All returns go through fraud-detection reviews and accuracy checks before the Tax Commission issues any refunds.

E-filers can expect refunds about seven to eight weeks after receiving an acknowledgment that the Tax Commission has the return. Paper filers can expect refunds about 10 to 11 weeks after the Tax Commission receives the return.

The deadline to file 2024 income taxes is Tuesday, April 15.
