
Idaho State Police is investigating a 3-vehicle crash that happened Friday evening on U.S. Highway 95 near milepost 295, south of Lapwai.
According to a news release, a gray 2007 GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling southbound on the highway without headlights at around 6:15 p.m. A gold 2014 Nissan Altima sedan, traveling northbound, began to pass a dark blue 2004 GMC New Sierra pickup truck. The Nissan collided head-on with the gray GMC, causing the truck to roll onto its side and come to rest in the center of the highway. The dark blue GMC was also impacted by the crash.
The driver of the Nissan, a 50 year-old man from Caldwell was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. The driver of the gray GMC, an 18 year-old man from Weippe, and the driver of the dark blue GMC, a 63 year-old man from Redmond, Oregon were both treated and released by medical personnel on scene. Everyone involved in the incident was wearing a seatbelt.
The highway was completely blocked for about an hour before reopening to one lane. It was fully reopened three and a half hours after the crash, which remains under investigation.
