As the fall fishing season begins, the Clearwater River in the Lewiston area will experience increasing boat traffic.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office reminds boaters to exercise caution and prioritize construction worker safety while navigating waters around Lewiston’s Memorial Bridge. The area around the bridge is restricted to boats, marked by “boats keep out” bouys. A boat passage on the bridge’s south end enables safe navigation through the construction zone, which is a “no wake zone” requiring speeds below 5 miles per hour.
The Sheriff’s Office Marine Division will conduct patrols to enforce the restrictions, as a violation constitutes a misdemeanor.
