A power outage originating on Snake River Avenue in Lewiston at around 5:30 a.m. this (Wed) morning affected an estimated 5000 Avista customers in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.

According to witnesses the power went out as a semi-truck turned south on to Snake River Avenue from Bryden Canyon Road. A few minutes later witnesses say at least two explosions were seen at the substation near the intersection.
Avista crews were able to restore power at approximately 7:45 a.m. to most customers.
