
George Galanopoulos was named an assistant coach for the Washington State men’s basketball team.
Most recently, Galanopoulos spent the inaugural season with the Portland Trailblazers’ G League affiliate, Rip City Remix, as the associate head coach. Prior to arriving in Portland, Galanopoulos spent most of the last decade with the Dallas Mavericks organization, serving at both the NBA and G League levels.
Galanopoulos also served as the head coach of the Ugandan Men’s National Team in 2017 at the FIBA AfroBasket continental championship.
A native of Chicago, Galanopoulos graduated from Indiana with a degree in communications and began his basketball career as an intern and coach at The Bakersfield Jam in California before joining the Dallas Mavericks organization.
