A Pullman man died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash late Monday night on Wawawai Pullman Road.
According to a press release from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with Washington State Patrol troopers and personnel from the Fire Districts 12, 14 and the Lewiston Fire Department, responded to a report of a single vehicle accident near Milepost 6 on the Wawawai Pullman Road.
Based on the initial investigation, 25-year-old Casey St. Clair of Pullman, lost control of the 2004 Ford F250 truck he was driving when he failed to negotiate a turn in the road. As a result, the vehicle left the roadway rolling several times before coming to rest in an adjacent field. During the accident, St. Clair was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
St. Clair was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and speed and alcohol are believed to have been contributing factors.
The investigation is ongoing.
