SPOKANE, WA—The National Weather Service in Spokane says the Inland Northwest will experience high winds over the next couple of days, and high temperatures will range from the mid-70s to mid-80s until the arrival of a cold front tomorrow. A Wind Advisory has been issued, and officials say the strongest winds will occur between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. tomorrow.
“Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph will accompany the passage of a cold front Thursday afternoon and evening,” the agency says. “Gusty west winds will develop Thursday afternoon and evening with the arrival of the cold front.”
Forecasters warn that wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph can produce isolated power outages, localized blowing dust near recently plowed fields, and rough water on area lakes and rivers. High-profile vehicles such as box trucks and commercial vehicles could also be affected.
The NWS says Friday will be cooler with highs in the 60s, but west winds will remain quite gusty.
