LEWISTON, ID – The Idaho State Police investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in North Lewiston at 5:00 pm Friday.
“A 36-year-old male from Lewiston was walking in the crosswalk, eastbound, across US Highway 12 and 3rd Avenue North. A 57-year-old male driving westbound in a white dodge pickup from 3rd avenue North made a left turn, striking the pedestrian. The preliminary investigation indicates the Dodge failed to yield the right of way to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital for serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge was cited and released,” ISP says in a press release.
Traffic was blocked in the westbound lanes for approximately 30 minutes to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.
