The Idaho House voted along party lines 59-10 to pass a bill that would require medical providers to get parental consent before giving nearly any treatment to children under the age of 18.
The measure also requires that parents receive access to their children’s medical records and allows civil lawsuits against providers if there’s a violation.
The bill has already passed the Senate on a party-line vote and now goes to Gov. Brad Little for consideration.
