Crews have made significant progress on the Hospital Fire in Orofino.
The fire that destroyed six homes and several outbuildings Tuesday is now listed at 80% contained. Firefighters continue with an aggressive suppression response that includes six Type 6 engines, one water tender, one dozer and one Type 2 hand crew. Fire officials report 45 personnel are assigned to the incident.
According to an Idaho Department of Lands press release, work to mop up the fire, working inward from its perimeter, continues.
Officials remind community members to please limit the use of Dent Bridge Road as active operations continue in the area, and firefighting equipment and slow moving or parked vehicles are present on the road.
