ASOTIN, WA – A thunderstorm rolled through the Lewis-Clark Valley late this morning, bringing with it lighting, power outages, and a wildland fire in Asotin County. The fire, in the area of Asotin Creek Road and Cloverland Road, burned approximately five acres. Crews from agencies around the region responded to the fire at around 10:27 a.m.

Asotin County Fire District #1 Chief Noel Hardin says the fire was wind-driven and threatened one home for a time.

In addition to his agency, Hardin says crews from Wheatland, Asotin, Lewiston, and Clarkston provided mutual aid. A helicopter from Leading Edge also assisted in extinguishing the fire.
