
The Lewis-Clark State Volleyball team earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the third year in a row and fourth time in program history, announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
As a team, LC State had a GPA of 3.57 in the fall and 3.65 in spring. Graduating seniors Carli Berntson and Channa Hart finished their four years with perfect 4.0 GPAs. Nine is the team’s 17 student-athletes held a spring GPA of 3.75 or greater, and 14 were 3.50 or better.
“This academic achievement is a testament for the incredible environment found at LC State,” Head Coach Katie Palmer said. “I’m proud of the dedication the student-athletes put toward the classroom, and thankful to all the faculty and staff who support them along the way.”
In order for a team to earn the 2023 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, the team must achieve a minimum team cumulative GPA of 3.30.
