CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston teenager was arrested early Thursday afternoon and booked into the Asotin County Jail on a charge of 2nd-Degree Rape of a Child. According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, 18-year-old Jeremya Thivierge was taken into custody by Clarkston Police at about 1:15 p.m. after they interviewed him in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl at Beachview Park two years ago.
The alleged victim had recently disclosed to a guardian that she had been “raped” after she hung out with a group of other children, the affidavit states. Thivierge was 16 at the time of the alleged incident.
The court document says it was getting dark and the pair reportedly walked up to Beachview Park from Chestnut Park Beach.
“[The girl] stated Jeremya went into the bathroom with [her] and told her she was going to stay in the bathroom with him so nobody hurt her. [The girl] stated Jeremya then made [her] take her clothes off and it proceeded from there,” the affidavit says.
During a police interview this week, Thivierge reportedly said he had met the girl through mutual friends a couple of days prior to the alleged incident. He told the investigating officer that he did not “force her to have sex,” the affidavit says.
