
WINCHESTER, ID – The Idaho State Police says a 75-year-old Seattle woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash this morning near Winchester. According to a press release, at around 4:29 a.m., ISP Troopers, Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Nez Perce Tribal Police responded to the crash on US 95 near milepost 286.
The woman was driving a Toyota Camry southbound when she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound Chevy Equinox driven by a 49-year-old Lewiston man; a 48-year-old female from Lewiston was a passenger.
“The driver and passenger of the Equinox were not wearing seat belts and were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Camry was pronounced deceased on scene. She was wearing a seat belt. Traffic on US95 was blocked in both directions for approximately 3 hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene,” ISP says.
The next of kin has been notified. This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
