CLARKSTON, WA – A 22 year-old Clarkston woman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly stealing multiple items – including adult toys, blue hair dye, and razors – from the local Walmart on three recent occasions. Alexandra Darrington was booked into the Asotin County Jail on 1st-Degree Criminal Trespass and three counts of 2nd-Degree Burglary. She also had three Failure to Appear warrants for Criminal Trespassing.
According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, Darrington was trespassed from the Clarkston Walmart in April of 2021, which makes it illegal for her to go into the store. But on four recent occasions – December 29th and 31st; and January 5th and 7th – she reportedly entered the store.
During the first alleged incident, the Affidavit says Darrington walked into Walmart at about 4:48 p.m. and was able to go around the store collecting $201.07 of merchandise “such as sex toys, personal care, locks, blue hair dye, misc tool items and some food items.” She had reportedly attempted to leave the store without paying for those items but was stopped by an employee and the items were immediately recovered, officials say.
At 6:33 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Darrington allegedly went through the store and “collected $89.41 of merchandise which was identified to be beauty products, jewelry and a wiréless device. Alexandra was able to leave the store with the merchandise without paying for them,” the document says.
On January 5th at about 9:36 p.m., Darrington allegedly entered Walmart with a male subject.
“In this incident [the Loss Prevention Officer] states Alexandra was in the cosmetics section and had selected adult toys and razors. There was an apparent empty backpack in the shopping cart. Alexandra leaves the adult toy with an associate and goes back into the health and beauty department where she selected other merchandise that [the officer] is unable to identify. Alexandra and [male] go to the register where [the male] pays for groceries and Alexandra leaves the store with her backpack full of items in her bag,” the Affidavit says. The Loss Prevention Officer was reportedly able to confirm at least one package of razors valued at $6.47 was stolen by Darrington.
Saturday evening at about 6:41 p.m., Darrington was again allegedly seen entering Walmart – this time by a Clarkston Police Officer who was on scene for possible burglary reports. She claimed her intention was just to use the restroom “whereas a reasonable person who knows they are trespassed from an establishment would go somewhere else,” the Affidavit says, adding that Darrington “continually trespasses on properties she is trespassed from…[and] adds clothing or alters her appearance in efforts to get away with her actions.”
