Two Idaho County Jail inmates have been charged with rioting and battery following a fight at the detention facility in Grangeville.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Chase Chandler of Peck and 28-year-old Quam Anderson were separated from the rest of the inmates. The 47-year-old unidentified victim in the incident was checked for injuries but declined medical treatment.

Chandler is being held on second-degree murder charges in connection with the Sept. 26th death of 24-year-old Wayne Hodges of Orofino. He is scheduled for jury trial in August, and his bond is set at $500,000.

Anderson is being held at the jail on a warrant from Twin Falls County.

Deputies were dispatched around 7 p.m. Wednesday when jailers responded to the fight which was captured on the jail’s video surveillance system.

Authorities say the fight met the criteria for elements of the crime of rioting, and it occurred in the county jail, which makes it a felony.
