The Lewiston City Council is planning to host an open house for the public to hear from supporters of Snake River dam breaching and those opposed to breaching.
The council had planned to vote on a proposed resolution in support of retaining the dams on March 14th, but Mayor Dan Johnson pulled it from the agenda after the council voted Monday to have the open house.
The council heard from breaching opponents in February and breaching supporters last week. The latter requested an open house.
Councilor Rick Tousley, who made the motion to hold the open house, believes it gives community members a chance to learn more about the complex topic and would help the city council understand where Lewiston residents stand.
No date has been set for the open house. (Lewiston Tribune)
