The American Automobile Association is predicting a big increase in the number of people traveling during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Matthew Conde with the Idaho Chapter of AAA says more than 109 million Americans will celebrate the holidays with a trip to see family and friends, with 593,000 Idahoans among them.
Higher fuel costs than a year ago are not expected to deter people from traveling to see family and friends over the holidays.
AAA advises motorists to check weather and road conditions prior to traveling and keep some emergency supplies in the vehicle, including food, water, blankets and a flashlight.
