Both Genesee and Troy public schools are closed today (MON) for deep cleaning as a precautionary measure as students from a Western Washington High school attending the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow have ties to the novel coronavirus. Superintendents for both districts notified parents over the weekend the schools were used to house some students who participated in the event at the University of Idaho. A group from Jackson High School in the Everett School District in Snohomish County stayed at the Genesee school. An affected student from Jackson High was not at the jazz festival and U of I officials noted there is no indication any of the other students at the festival had direct contact with the reportedly infected student. The test result has yet to be confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. No cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in Idaho. (Lewiston Morning Tribune, KHQ)
