The cost to go to the landfill increases with the new year. Asotin County Commissioners approved the price hike at this morning’s meeting. The price for dumping less than 200 lbs right now is $5.00, but with the proposed increase it will rise to $7.00.
They approved an even $7.00 so customers and landfill cashiers don’t have to have change on-hand. They had considered $6.40, but the committee behind the landfill decided against it.
The price hike goes through January 1st. It will also cost more for Sunshine Disposal in Lewiston, Naslund in Asotin County, the City of Clarkston, and all collection companies who take their waste to the Asotin County Landfill.
The prices for everything but tire disposal have remained the same since 2015.
