Idaho drivers continue to feel the pain of higher gas prices.
According to the American Automobile Association, the average price for a gallon of regular in the Gem State is $4.30, which is six cents higher than a week ago, 25 cents higher than a month ago, and 82 cents higher than this time last year. The national average currently sits at $4.09 per gallon, which is two cents less than a week ago, but 27 cents more than a month ago and 94 cents more than a year ago.
Idaho moved up two places and now ranks 10th in the country for the most expensive fuel. California leads the way at $5.65 and Texas drivers are paying the least at $3.59 per gallon.
AAA-Idaho’s Matthew Conde says uncertainty in the Middle East is at the heart of the matter.
Of Idaho’s largest cities, Boise and Twin Falls each report the state’s highest-average price for a gallon of regular at $4.32, while Lewiston has the state’s lowest-average price per gallon at $4.12.
