Nearly all burning is now illegal in Asotin County. During this morning’s Commissioners meeting, the County Fire Marshal proposed the ban and the Commissioners approved it.
Under the ban, only propane fire rings, propane and charcoal BBQs, and campfires on Chief Timothy Park are still allowed. Smokers are not considered open burning, so they’re still legal too.
The burn ban lasts until fall when conditions are better for keeping fires under control.
