After nearly three decades with the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Chris Goetz announced his retirement yesterday. He started with the Sheriff’s Office in 1998 out of Weippe, working his way up through the ranks by moving to Orofino as a Patrol Deputy, then Patrol Corporal, Narcotics Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and then Sheriff Alan Hengen’s Chief Deputy until he was elected Sheriff for the first time in 2008.
