A transformer blew last night just before 8:30, cutting electricity to North Lewiston and up 21st Street. Power is just now coming back on this morning to some areas north of the Clearwater River. Nez Perce County Fire Chief Patrick Showers says the transformer started the grass fire that burned about 1/10th of an acre before they and Lewiston Fire had it extinguished. Firefighters were finished up by 9:30 last night.
