
Pullman Police officers responded to an alleged armed, suicidal arsonist today (Tues). A social media post from the PD says at 9:30am, they headed to the 1100 block of NW Davis Way. While officers tried to make contact with him, a fire broke out inside the home.
The Whitman County Regional SWAT Team responded with Whitman County deputies, WSU Police, and Washington State Patrol, and took 36-year-old Thomas Nguyen into custody around 11:40am. He was treated for minor injuries and booked into the Whitman County Jail for Arson 1st Degree.
Firefighters from Pullman Fire and Whitman County Fire District 12 responded to put the house fire out. The road was closed for more than two hours while emergency crews worked.
