City of Lewiston to Host Public Works Expo Thursday

In accordance with the tradition of the American Public Works Association, those who work in professions that provide and maintain public facilities and services will be honored across the nation during National Public Works Week, now through Saturday.

The Annual Public Works Expo is scheduled for this Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds in Lewiston. According to a news release, the Expo will increase awareness of Public Works’ responsibilities and provide an opportunity where the public can experience a variety of activities related to practices of Public Works professionals.

Organizations participating include: the City of Lewiston, Asotin County, the Lewiston Orchards Irrigation District, Sunshine Disposal, Clearwater Composting and Idaho Digline.

Public Works Day will acquaint the community to professional opportunities in a growing field, learn how daily activities affect the environment, and learn about the many services provided by the region’s Public Works Departments.
