It’s illegal to hunt big game animals and game birds using night vision and thermal imaging in Idaho now. Governor Little signed House Bill 939 that makes it illegal with some exceptions. It also bans the use of transmitting trail cameras on government land and using drones between August 30th and December 31st each year.
The exceptions include hunting wolves, mountain lions, and predatory wildlife. It also excludes retrieving wounded game and monitoring traps.
The law goes into effect July 1st.
