High winds are coming our way tomorrow (Tues). The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for southeast Washington. It will also affect Lewiston and Nez Perce County. Wind gusts are expected up to 45 miles per hour between 8am and 5pm. In higher elevations, above 4,500 feet, they expect gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
If you’re planning any open burning tomorrow (Tues), be sure to check the county’s recorded phone line to see if it’s still legal. The number is 509-243-2002. The Weather Service says in these winds, any fire starts could spread rapidly in dry grasses and brush.
