A six year old died in a fire when it consumed a home in Weippe early this morning (Mon). A press release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office says at 3:13am, they responded to the home on Rock Pit Road with Timberline Rescue, Weippe Fire, and Pierce Fire.
They found a single-wide trailer fully engulfed in fire when they arrived. The release says four occupants, two adults and two children, were inside the home when the fire started. Both adults and a child were able to get out, but one was found deceased in the home by firefighters.
The Sheriff’s Office and State Fire Marshalls’ Office are investigating the cause.
