Idaho Gasoline Prices Jump Another 16 Cents Overnight

Idaho drivers continue to feel the pain at the gas pumps. According to the American Automobile Association, today’s (Tue) average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the Gem State is $3.40 per gallon, a 16-cent jump from yesterday (Mon). Drivers in the Treasure Valley in southwest Idaho have it even worse, with prices jumping by a staggering 21 cents in a single day.

The main culprit is the soaring cost of crude oil, which hit $110 per barrel over the weekend before dipping to $95 yesterday.

Matthew Conde with Idaho AAA says “today, crude is trading below $85 per barrel, which could be an early sign that things are starting to stabilize.” He added that “as long as the cost of crude remains elevated, drivers are going to feel the squeeze.” However, the travel organization doesn’t believe that many Americans will cancel their Spring Break travel plans.
