The Grangeville-based Mountain View School District is reminding students and families about an important safety practice at school. Students should never accept medication, vitamins, gummies, or unwrapped candy from other students, even if it is offered as a joke or appears harmless.

According to the school district, only medications that have been approved by parents and administered through the school office according to district policy should be taken during the school day.

District officials encourage families to have a conversation with their students about that expectation. Accepting unknown substances can be unsafe and may have unintended health consequences.
