Lewiston Firefighters Return From Stairclimb

The team of Lewiston firefighters spent Saturday climbing Seattle’s Columbia Center. It has 69 floors, which is 1,356 steps for 788 vertical feet. They did it in full gear, wearing a mask with oxygen. The same equipment they’d wear in a house fire. The goal was to raise awareness and funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Out of more than 250 teams, Lewiston came in in at #142.

It’s not too late to donate to the Lewiston team’s goal of $10,000. They’re a little more than $3,000 away. You can donate here: https://pages.lls.org/events/wa/firefighterstairclimb26/lewistonfiredepartment

Also of note, Pullman Fire’s Steven Potratz Lee came in 2nd overall, less than one second behind first place. That’s out of 1,915 climbers. His time to climb 69 floors: 11 minutes, 54.44 seconds.
