Today is election day and the only thing on the Asotin County ballot is a bond for the Clarkston School District. The early numbers are in and so far it’s passing 58% yes to 42% no. It needs more than 50% yes vote to pass.
The levy proposed is to replace the one expiring. It would cost homeowners $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed home value. If it passes, it will fund educational programs and operations in the district.
The next vote count is expected to be on Thursday afternoon.
CORRECTION: This post originally said it needed 60% to pass. That was incorrect. An educational levy needs 50% +1 yes vote to pass.
