Governor Brad Little stopped off in Lewiston yesterday (Weds) to talk to reporters about his budget plan. He calls it “Enduring Idaho” and it outlines the things he feels Idaho needs to focus on. He specifically addressed the 3% cut to the state budget, but also the need to keep schools fully-funded.
“In our budget submission, we kept schools whole, and that’s one of my priorities. The legislature kind of asked for some reductions in public education support, but I think they’re starting to have second thoughts about it. And that’s a good thing.”
He talked about the economic slowdown and how it should only impact Idaho for one year. That means some projects, like roads, will have to be delayed.
Little side-stepped the question of re-election. He still has a few weeks to decide if he’s running again for Governor.
