Blood Supply Severely Low

blood-shortage

Blood supply has dropped to a “severe” level in Washington State. The Department of Health sent out a warning that one of the largest blood suppliers in the state has a one-to-two day supply of critical blood types and platelets.

They and the American Red Cross have started bringing blood from other parts of the country, but they say it won’t be enough without local people rolling up their sleeves.

The shortage is especially bad for Type O blood and platelets.

If you’d like to donate, you can stop by Vitalant in Lewiston. They’re open Monday through Friday. You can schedule an appointment at Vitalant.org
