A Colton man was killed in a single-vehicle accident yesterday.
According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies, along with emergency personnel from Fire District 12, responded to a crash on Wawawai-Pullman Road near milepost 6.
Upon arrival, first responders determined that the vehicle’s sole occupant, identified as 33-year-old Alex Papendick, had sustained fatal injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling southbound when it left the roadway, rolled multiple times, and came to rest off the road.
The crash remains under investigation.
