One Person Injured in Three-Car Crash South of Riggins

Idaho State Police are investigating a three-vehicle collision that occurred yesterday (Sun) afternoon at about 12:20 on U.S. Highway 95 near milepost 185 in the northbound lane, south of Riggins.

According to a news release, a 77-year-old man, from Riggins was traveling northbound on the highway in a 2007 Cadillac DTS when he was coming to a stop in the roadway. A multi-vehicle rear end crash occurred involving a 39-year-old woman from Meridian, Idaho, driving a 2019 Jeep Compass and a 42-year-old man from Riggins driving a 2008 Toyota Tundra.

Seatbelts were worn by the drivers of the Jeep and the Cadillac. The driver of the Toyota was not wearing his seatbelt. A passenger in the Jeep was transported by ground ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash. The roadway was blocked for about two hours.

ISP was assisted by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, Riggin’s City Fire and Ambulance, and witness’s of the crash.
