The city of Lewiston is seeking public comments on a proposed Transportation Capital Improvement Plan.
According to a news release, the plan serves as a vital guide, prioritizing major transportation capital improvement projects based on mobility, safety, economic vitality, livability, and responsible governance. Updated yearly, it incorporates progress from prior years, adjusts ongoing projects with new data or needs, and integrates fresh initiatives.
The 2026 plan has been drafted based on the project completion, scope changes, etc. that have occurred since the previous plan was adopted in March 2025 as well as the public’s feedback during the Call for Requests Period held between November 1st and November 30th last year.
The 30-day Public Comment Period is now open and closes February 6th.
The Update Summary, draft 2026 Transportation CIP, and comment form can be found on the City website at cityoflewiston.org/masterplans. Those documents will also be available at City Hall and at the Public Works office.
An Open House where the public can view the draft CIP, ask questions, and provide comments, is scheduled for January 13th from 5:30 to 6:30pm in the Community
Room at the Lewiston City Library. After February 6th, staff will review and use comments to finalize the 2026 CIP.
A public hearing is currently scheduled to take place on February 23rd where the Lewiston City Council will accept public comment on the plan.
