Port of Lewiston Seeking Comments on Proposed Recreational Boat Dock

The Port of Lewiston is currently preparing a grant application and seeking public comments to secure funding for a new public recreational boat dock, which will be located near the cruise boat dock at the Confluence Riverfront.

The grant is being offered by the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation’s Waterways Improvement Fund. If the grant is awarded, the Port, in collaboration with American Cruise Lines, will contribute matching funds.

The dock’s primary purpose will be to offer local boaters a secure place to moor, improve access to the Clearwater and Snake rivers, and accommodate visitors arriving on cruises and for Hells Canyon jet boat tours.

To ensure that the dock serves the recreational needs of the community, the Port is inviting residents to share their thoughts on how a dock at that location would enhance their river activities and suggest features that would improve their experiences.

Local river users may submit their comments at portinfo@portoflewiston.com. The Port will accept responses through January 23rd.
